Ghaith Ouahabi linked with US Monastir after Esperance departure
Tunisia midfielder Ghaith Ouahabi, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to US Monastir in the Tunisian Ligue 1.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder left Esperance on 1 July 2026 and is now being considered by Monastir as they assess options for the new season. No agreement has been confirmed.
Ouahabi spent the 2025-26 campaign back at Esperance after returning from a loan spell with Georgia’s Dinamo Batumi. He made 18 Ligue 1 appearances during his career, scoring once, and has also featured in the CAF Champions League and African Football League.
His most recent season at Esperance ended with the club winning the Tunisian Cup, adding to the two Tunisian league titles he secured with the side in 2021-22 and 2023-24.
Ouahabi came through Esperance’s under-21 setup before joining the senior team in July 2022. He moved to Dinamo Batumi on loan in January 2025 and returned to Esperance at the end of December that year.
The Tunisia international’s current market value is estimated at €200,000. A move to US Monastir would keep him in the Tunisian top flight, with the club identified as the side currently linked with his signature.
