Gervinho, officially presented with AS Roma after signing a four-year deal, has responded to Arsène Wenger’s recent comments about his departure from Arsenal. Wenger had mentioned that Gervinho lacked confidence, which impacted his playing time with the Gunners.
In his response, Gervinho stated, “It’s his opinion, I don’t pass judgment on it, but I would have preferred that he gave me this confidence. Wenger is one of the great coaches, I have a lot of respect for him. But a player needs playing time, and a coach must give the player confidence if he feels he needs it. With Rudi (Garcia), I have it. And I have confidence in my qualities.” Gervinho has reunited with Rudi Garcia, his former coach at Lille, and seems optimistic about his prospects at Roma.
