Germany will play their first match under new manager Jurgen Klopp in their final kit designed by Adidas when they face the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Thursday.
The black shirt was originally due to be unveiled on 3 November, but Adidas and the German Football Association (DFB) have brought its first appearance forward for the Nations League fixture.
Germany’s 77-year partnership with Adidas is coming to an end, with the national team set to wear Nike kits from 2027.
Adidas said: “Since the beginning of the week, football legends and fans have been discussing the best Germany national team shirt of all time. We are delighted that a new shirt can immediately join this discussion.”
The company described the new design as a black shirt featuring the Adidas trefoil logo and vertical gold stripes made up of small diamond shapes.
“The stripes take their design from the current home and away shirts and symbolise more than 24,000 football clubs in Germany, which form the foundation of German football,” Adidas added.
The kit will be the last produced by the German sportswear company, which has supplied Germany’s national teams for seven decades.
In 2024, the DFB announced that it would not renew its agreement with Adidas and would instead form a partnership with its American rival, Nike.
“Nike will be the new supplier for Germany’s football national teams from 2027,” the DFB said in a statement.
“The German Football Association will enter into a partnership with Nike from 2027 to 2034.”
Germany’s current contract with Adidas expires at the end of 2026. Nike will then provide equipment for all of the country’s national teams and promote German football as a whole.
The DFB said Nike had secured the rights following a transparent tender process in which the American company submitted the strongest financial offer.
Nike has spent several years attempting to win the sponsorship rights to Germany’s national teams from Adidas, in a rivalry between the two sportswear manufacturers that has lasted for decades.
