German-born defender of Togolese descent, Omar Traore, will stay at FC Heidenheim beyond the January transfer window despite speculated interest from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

A recent report from “Bild” linked the right-back with a possible move to Gladbach, but a separate source has dismissed those claims. According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, Traore is not a concrete target for Mönchengladbach, and the speculation surrounding him is considered far-fetched.

Traore, whose contract with Heidenheim is set to expire, is reportedly unwilling to sign an extension. While a winter transfer remains possible, it would give Heidenheim a final opportunity to secure a fee.

The 27-year-old has been with Heidenheim since the summer of 2023 and has contributed nine assists across 89 competitive appearances for the club.

According to sources, while Traore is set to stay at FC Heidenheim beyond the January window, he is more likely to leave the club in the next summer window.
