Germany international of Sierra Leonean descent Antonio Rudiger will not be available for Real Madrid when they take on Deportivo Minera in the Copa del Rey.
The Spanish giants will travel to face fourth-tier outfit in the round 32 of the Cup competition on Monday evening.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to ring changes to his starting lineup against the lower-tier club as he intends to give regular players rest.
Rudiger didn’t travel with the Madrid team, making him unavailable for the much-anticipated clash.
The Sierra Leone defender joins Thibaut Courtois as players who did make the Madrid squad for the game.
“Andriy Lunin will play tomorrow. Courtois needs rest. Thibaut and Rüdiger are the only ones who didn’t travel with us. Tomorrow, I plan to give playing time to those who haven’t played much this season.” he said at a pre-match conference.
The 31-year-old defender has been outstanding for Madrid this season, making 26 appearances across competitions and scoring two crucial goals for the club.
