German-Nigerian winger Karim Adeyemi disappointed with Dortmund’s draw against Juventus
Germany international of Nigerian descent Karim Adeyemi has expressed his disappointment following Borussia Dortmund’s stalemate against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.
Dortmund threw away several goal lead in the high-stake clash as they settle for a 4-4 draw in Turin on Tuesday night.
Adeyemi delivered an outstanding performance in the match, scoring one goal and providing an assists.
Speaking after the game, Adeyemi has expressed his disappointment with the draw, stressing his outfit should have emerged victorious.
“It was tough, ” Adeyemi said of his feelings after the match, according to Sky Germany . “We should have won this match 100%. We were well organized at the back and didn’t allow them to start any attacks, but in the end things didn’t go as we had hoped”
“We’re definitely disappointed. I think we started the match better in the second half, and I think we deserved to score, but as I said, we’re disappointed. We’ll keep working and resume the journey at the weekend.”
Despite winning the man of the match award, Adeyemi insists his outfit should have won the game.
“Of course, it would have been better if we had won. It’s a personal award. It’s better if we won as a team and came back with a score of 4-2. It wasn’t meant to be, and we’ll perform better in the next match.”
“They scored the third goal, and I thought nothing else would happen because we were settled, but that wasn’t the case.”
