German-born defender of Nigerian descent, Felix Uduokhai, is keen on leaving Besiktas in the January transfer window.

The centre-back, who arrived in Istanbul with high expectations, has struggled to find consistent minutes this season and is now open to a change of environment.

Besiktas have had a mixed start to their Süper Lig campaign, sitting sixth with 24 points after 14 matchdays. Their performances have lacked the stability expected of a title-contending side, and Uduokhai’s limited involvement has only added to the growing frustration on both sides.

Despite being regarded as a dependable defender with Bundesliga experience, he has not secured the role he anticipated under the current technical setup.

According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, a January transfer is “possible,” with clubs from the Bundesliga already making concrete inquiries. The former Augsburg defender is said to be unhappy with his reduced playing time and is now considering a return to Germany, where several teams view him as a strong mid-season reinforcement.

Even though Uduokhai’s contract with Besiktas runs until 2027, the situation suggests that a winter exit could suit all parties, especially if the player pushes for regular football to revive his form and secure his place in future national team plans.
