The German Football Federation announced on Thursday that the German Cup final will remain in Berlin, the capital, until 2020.
The contract extension means that the German Cup will continue to be held at the Berlin Olympic Stadium. This decision ensures continuity for the prestigious event, with the initial contract, set to expire next year, now extended by five years.
The upcoming final on May 17 will see Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund vying for the trophy. Bayern Munich, the current title holders, are seeking their 17th success in the competition, while Borussia Dortmund aims for their 4th victory.
It’s worth noting that in the 2011-2012 season, these two teams faced each other in the final, with Dortmund securing a memorable 5-2 victory over Bayern.
