Gerard Pique mocks Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid with 2010 TikTok video

Gerard Pique has taken aim at Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid after the club’s difficult start under the returning Portuguese manager, using a video to recall Barcelona’s dominance in 2010.

Real Madrid’s recent decline has continued after two years without a trophy, during which three different managers took charge of the team. Club president Florentino Perez then decided to bring Mourinho back as manager in an attempt to restore Real Madrid’s challenge for major honours.

However, Mourinho’s opening period has not gone as expected. The team’s defeat by Atletico de Madrid in the Madrid derby has intensified criticism of Real Madrid’s performances under his leadership.

Pique, a former Barcelona defender and a well-known supporter of the Catalan club, used the opportunity to mock Real Madrid, Barcelona’s traditional rivals. He posted a video on his official TikTok account which referred to events from 2010.

The clip, shared on 21 September 2026, listed three developments from that year:

– Spain won the World Cup – Mourinho produced an outstanding season in La Liga – Barcelona played “like gods”

The message was presented as a joke about the current situation at Real Madrid and Mourinho’s return to Spanish football.

Pique’s comparison referred to the period in 2010 when Barcelona were at the height of their success, contrasting that team’s performances with Real Madrid’s current struggles.
