George Vorster: England and South Africa forward joins Burgess Hill on loan

England and South Africa centre-forward George Vorster has joined Burgess Hill from Slough on loan, returning to the club where he spent parts of the 2025-26 season.

The 19-year-old moved to Burgess Hill on 19 August 2026 after beginning the current campaign with Slough in the National League South. His loan spell runs until 19 September 2026, when he is due to return to Slough.

Vorster made one National League South appearance for Slough this season, playing 20 minutes. He did not start the match and has not scored in the competition.

The move brings Vorster back to familiar surroundings after two previous loan spells at Burgess Hill during the 2025-26 campaign. He first joined from Sutton United Reserves on 6 August 2025, before returning to Sutton on 28 November. He went back to Burgess Hill on 3 January 2026 and remained there until the end of that loan on 31 May.

Vorster joined Slough on a free transfer from Sutton United Reserves on 1 July 2026. Sutton had previously taken him from their under-18 side, while his earlier youth career also included a loan spell at Ashford Town.

The left-footed forward, who was born on 18 January 2007, has represented both England and South Africa at nationality level. His return to Burgess Hill adds another attacking option to the squad during the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season.

Burgess Hill currently hold the player’s registration on loan from Slough, with the transfer completed on 19 August 2026.
