LIGUE 1 – THAUVIN RETURNS FOR OM’S CLASH AGAINST MONACO
Florian Thauvin is back in the Olympique de Marseille squad after being left out during the previous matchday. As OM prepares for a crucial Matchday 36 showdown against AS Monaco, all eyes will be on the young attacking midfielder, who has been under scrutiny from critics in recent weeks.
Despite his struggles, Geoffrey Kondogbia, a teammate of Thauvin’s in the French U21 team and current Monaco midfielder, showed strong support for him:
“It happens in a career. We’re young, it’s part of the job. You have to accept it and bounce back. In France, no one doubts Florian’s quality, we know what he’s capable of,” said Kondogbia in La Provence.
“He has character, knows his worth, and looks at himself in the mirror when things aren’t going well. I’m not worried about him. I have no doubt: he will be a great player and a future player for the French national team.”
Thauvin is expected to start the game on the bench, but his return to the squad is a chance for redemption and to reaffirm his place in OM’s future plans.
