Geoffrey Kondogbia ruled out of Paris FC clash as Marseille injury crisis deepens

Central African Republic captain Geoffrey Kondogbia has been ruled out of Marseille’s upcoming French Ligue 1 clash against Paris FC following an injury setback.

The former France U20 star succumbed to a muscular injury last weekend, as his outfit fell short to Monaco in a highly competitive away clash.

Kondogbia has, however, been ruled out of the titanic clash against defending champions, Paris FC after failing to recover in time.

The absence of Kondogbia represents another concern for manager Bruno Genesio, particularly at a time when Marseille are already dealing with limited options in midfield.

The midfielder has been an important figure in the squad thanks to his experience, physical strength and ability to provide balance in the centre of the pitch. His absence could therefore force Genesio to make changes to his midfield structure for the Paris FC encounter.

Genesio will now have to find a solution capable of maintaining Marseille’s balance and competitiveness while key players remain unavailable.

The club will be hoping Kondogbia’s muscular problem is not serious enough to keep him out for an extended period, but his absence this weekend is another setback for a Marseille side looking to respond quickly after the defeat to Monaco.
