Italian international of Ghanaian descent Mario Balotelli is set to depart Genoa in the ongoing transfer window.
Balotelli has struggled for playing time, marking only six appearances without finding the net since joining the Rossoblu outfit in October 2024 as a free agent.
The experienced forward has not been in the plans of coach Patrick Vieira since his arrival at the club.
And according to Genoa’s chief, Marco Ottolini, his outfit are considering parting ways with Balotelli in an attempt to secure him a club where he can get playing time.
“Mario has dropped down the pecking order, he is eager to get more playing time.
“In the final days of the transfer window, we will try to find a solution that suits everyone.
“We are trying to find somewhere he can go to play. He is not getting minutes on the pitch at Genoa right now, so we consider the best solution to be finding somewhere he can get that.”
Balotelli has had spells with a host of top clubs in Europe including, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool, Marseille and others.
