Renowned former Al Ahly player, Walid Salah El-Din, has revealed his choice for the best coach to take charge of Egypt’s national team in the near future, should Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria depart from coaching the Pharaohs.
Speaking in a television interview on ON Time Sports, Walid Salah El-Din stated, “I believe that Pitso Mosimane (former Al Ahly coach) or Hossam Hassan are the most suitable to coach Egypt’s national team if Vitoria leaves.”
He added, “Mosimane has tactical errors that can be addressed with the national team, the most prominent being the excessive rest he gives to the players,” further stating, “The national team coach must be a genius and creative, thinking outside the box.”
Walid Salah El-Din continued, “Who created Sundowns and the South African national team? Mosimane.”
He concluded, “Hossam Hassan always relies on young players and can make something out of them.
The coach of Egypt’s national team should not be stereotypical; he should not be like a Swiss watch and must be capable of improving the players’ performance.”
