Gelson Dala: Angola forward linked with move to Vietnams CAHN FC
Angola-born forward Gelson Dala, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Vietnamese V.League 1 side CAHN FC as the 29-year-old explores his next step after leaving Al-Wakrah SC.
Dala became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following his departure from the Qatari club, opening the door to offers, with CAHN FC emerging as suitors as they look to add a proven goalscorer to their attack. Any deal would not involve a transfer fee, though his current market valuation stands at around 1.5 million.
The centre-forward, who holds Angolan and Portuguese nationality and was born in Luanda, enjoyed a productive spell in Qatars Stars League, scoring 39 goals and providing 11 assists in 82 league appearances for Al-Wakrah. He was particularly effective in cup competition, finishing as top scorer in the 202122 Qatari Stars Cup with seven goals and later helping Al-Wakrah lift the Qatari League Cup in 2024.
Before moving to the Gulf, Dala built his reputation in Portugal, notably with Rio Ave and Sporting, registering 14 goals and 15 assists in 70 Liga Portugal outings. His performances in Qatar and Portugal, as well as five goals in six appearances in the AFC Champions League Two, have underlined his ability to adapt to different competitions.
Talk of a switch to CAHN FC comes as Dala considers his options as a free agent, with the Vietnamese club weighing up whether to turn their interest into a formal offer. For now, the forward remains unattached as he assesses potential opportunities for the 202627 season.
