Gambian winger Abdoulie Sanyang has finally ended his six-month goal drought, scoring a vital equalizer for Hajduk Split in their Croatian league clash against Istra.

The 25-year-old, who had endured a frustrating spell of limited playing time and injuries, marked his return to the starting lineup with a decisive performance.

Sanyang’s last goal came on August 4, 2024, in a 2-1 victory over Slaven Belupo.

Since then, he struggled to secure minutes, spending ten consecutive matches without stepping onto the pitch.

His absence was a blow both personally and for his club, as he battled for form and fitness.

On Saturday, February 15, Sanyang seized his opportunity, leveling the score for Hajduk Split after they fell behind in the 13th minute.

His well-taken goal provided the much-needed spark for his team, underlining his determination to regain a regular place in the squad.

For the Gambian international, this goal represents more than just a return to the scoresheet—it is a turning point.

With renewed confidence, he now hopes to build momentum and make a significant impact for both Hajduk Split and his national team.

As the Croatian league leaders, Hajduk Split will be looking to capitalize on Sanyang’s resurgence in their pursuit of the title.

If the winger can maintain his form, he could prove to be a key figure in their championship ambitions.
