Gambian striker Modou Keita joins Stalowa Wola on loan from Miedz Legnica

Gambian centre-forward Modou Keita has joined Stalowa Wola from Miedz Legnica on loan until 30 June 2027. The 20-year-old moves to the Polish second-tier club after starting the 2026-27 campaign with Miedz Legnica’s reserve side in the Betclic 3 Liga.

Keita has made six appearances in the competition this season, scoring three goals in 284 minutes. He has started 33% of those matches and has been involved in a goal in a third of his appearances. The forward’s record includes a goal every 95 minutes.

His move takes him to Stalowa Wola, who compete in the Betclic 2 Liga. Keita will be available to the club after completing his switch on 9 September, although he has yet to make an appearance for Miedz Legnica’s senior side in the Betclic 1 Liga this season or in the Polish Cup.

Standing at 1.92m, Keita offers Stalowa Wola a sizeable centre-forward option as they add a player who has already made an impact in the lower division this campaign. His three goals for Miedz Legnica II came before the loan move was completed.

Keita arrived at Miedz Legnica in October 2025 from the club’s reserve structure, having initially moved to Miedz Legnica II from Gambian club BST Galaxy FC on a free transfer in February 2025. His senior club career in Poland has therefore included spells with both Miedz Legnica II and the first-team setup before the switch to Stalowa Wola.

The loan agreement includes a scheduled return to Miedz Legnica at the end of June 2027. Keita’s move to Stalowa Wola is now complete.
