Gambian defender Sedi Kinteh is reportedly open to leaving Norwegian side Tromsø next summer amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
The versatile left-sided centre-back has drawn interest from clubs across Europe following an impressive debut season in Norway, where he earned a five-year contract after impressing during a trial at a Senegalese academy. Kinteh, who can also operate as a left-back, is currently valued at around £4 million by Tromsø.
Swiss sides Basel and Young Boys are reportedly considering late bids before their transfer window closes on February 16, aiming to secure Kinteh and potentially sell him on for a profit.
Chelsea, having recently missed out on Rennes’ Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool, remain in the market for defensive reinforcements, while Manchester United are assessing options to strengthen their youth backline alongside other midfield priorities.
With both Premier League giants monitoring his development, Sedi Kinteh could become one of Europe’s most exciting young defensive prospects in the months ahead.
