Gambia defender Albert Jatta joins Slovakia’s Podbrezova U19
Gambia defender Albert Jatta has joined Slovak side Podbrezova U19, completing a move into the club’s under-19 set-up.
The 18-year-old, who plays in defence, joined the club on 16 September 2026. His arrival comes during the 2026-27 season and places him in a Podbrezova youth team competing in Slovakia’s I. Liga SD.
Jatta is listed as a Gambian national and represents FK Zeleziarne Podbrezova U19 at international club-registration level. The move marks his arrival at the Podbrezova academy, where he will be part of the squad structure designed for under-19 football.
The defender’s age makes him eligible for the club’s youth side, while his position gives Podbrezova an additional option in its defensive group. His transfer was recorded with the first team’s youth designation, distinguishing the move from a senior-team signing.
Podbrezova U19 competes in the I. Liga SD, the league attached to the Slovak youth football system. Jatta’s move therefore gives him a place in a recognised domestic competition at under-19 level as he begins this new stage of his career.
The transfer was completed on 16 September, with Jatta’s registration under Podbrezova U19 taking effect for the current season. No contract end date has been recorded for the defender.
Born in 2008, Jatta joins the Slovak club while still within the under-19 age group. His nationality adds a Gambian presence to the Podbrezova youth set-up, while his defensive role identifies the area in which he will contribute to the team.
The move is Jatta’s first recorded entry into the Podbrezova U19 squad, and his club registration now places him within the Slovak youth league structure. He will represent the under-19 side as part of the 2026-27 campaign.
Albert Jatta completed his move to Podbrezova U19 on 16 September 2026.
