Christophe Galtier Commits to Saint-Étienne Amid Newcastle Rumours
Despite growing speculation linking Christophe Galtier with a move to Newcastle United, the AS Saint-Étienne manager has reaffirmed his commitment to the French club, at least until the end of the season.
The 48-year-old coach, who has been widely tipped to succeed Alan Pardew at the Premier League side, has put an end to the rumours for now, stressing his loyalty to his current club and players.
“I have a commitment to my club and my players. I am and will be the coach of ASSE until the end of the season,” Galtier stated firmly, brushing aside the idea of an immediate departure.
Saint-Étienne are enjoying a solid campaign under Galtier, and his leadership remains pivotal as the team fights for a strong Ligue 1 finish. His declaration of loyalty will be welcome news for fans and players alike.
Galtier also touched on transfer matters, notably reaffirming the importance of captain Loïc Perrin, who has also been linked with a move abroad: “Loïc Perrin is our captain. He plays an important position. During the transfer window, we prioritize athleticism.”
While interest from abroad may remain, Galtier’s immediate future lies with the Greens, at least until the summer.
