Galatasaray’s €15 million offer for Ilaix Moriba turned down by Celta Vigo
Celta Vigo have knocked back a €15 million bid from Galatasaray for Ilaix Moriba as they hold out for a higher fee for the Guinean midfielder.
Journalist Angel Garcia reports that the Turkish champions tabled the offer, but Celta immediately rejected it, insisting on €20 million before they even consider a sale. The La Liga side believe a richer club will step forward, especially with Moriba tied down to a contract running until 2029 after joining for €6 million last summer.
Interest in the 23-year-old is growing across Europe, with Aston Villa and Brighton tracking him in the Premier League, while Juventus are also monitoring his situation ahead of a possible midfield reshuffle. All three clubs are set to feature in European competitions next season, adding extra appeal to any move.
Moriba was a key figure for Claudio Giraldez’s side last season, making 48 appearances and anchoring the midfield with energy and discipline.
Born in Conakry on 19 January 2003, the 1.85m central midfielder is valued at €15 million on Transfermarkt, operates primarily through the middle, and favours his right foot. For now, though, Celta Vigo remain in control of his future and are in no rush to cash in.
