Galatasaray urged not to sign Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen

Former Gotzepe coach Yilmaz Vural is urging Galatasaray not to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan in the summer transfer following a break-down in relationship at Napoli.

Osimhen was dropped from Napoli squad list after chaotic transfer deadline, which saw him fail to agree a move to either Chelsea or Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League.

The enterprising attacker remains contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2026.

Since joining Galatasaray, the highly-rated forward has established himself as key cog, scoring crucial goals for the club in the ongoing campaign.

Osimhen has racked up eight goals and provided three assists in 10 appearances for the club.

Despite his outstanding performance, Yilmaz Vural has kicked against the permanent signing of the forward due to Napoli’s asking price.

“Victor Osimhen is a magnificent footballer. He can pass people with his dribble, he has incredible control over aerial balls. He is a real centre forward and his technical and physical characteristics are very good”

“However, 75 million Euros is really too much. Our big teams like Galatasaray should acquire names like Barış Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Aktürkoğlu from the lower leagues” Yilmaz Vural said.
