Galatasaray table mammoth €10m salary offer to tempt Rafael Leao away from AC Milan

Galatasaray have reportedly made a major financial push to sign Rafael Leao from AC Milan this summer, tabling an offer worth €10 million per season plus bonuses for the Portuguese forward.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turkish giants have emerged as the first club to formally position themselves in the race for Leao, who is increasingly viewed as one of the most attainable elite attackers on the market ahead of the new campaign.

The report claims Milan are prepared to listen to offers in the region of £43 million, a figure that has alerted several clubs across Europe and the Premier League. Just a few seasons ago, Leao was regarded as a player valued close to the £100 million mark following his explosive performances in Serie A.

Milan open to summer sale

The winger’s market value has dipped amid inconsistent form over the past campaign, despite flashes of the pace and power that made him one of Europe’s most feared attackers. With his contract at San Siro running until June 2028, Milan are still in a strong negotiating position, but the reported asking price is being viewed as a potential bargain in the current market.

At 26, Leao remains firmly in his prime years and continues to attract interest because of his physical profile and ability to change games in transition. His performances for Portugal national football team at this year’s World Cup are also expected to keep attention on him throughout the transfer window.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin revealed that Galatasaray’s proposal includes “€10m per season plus bonuses,” underlining the Turkish side’s determination to secure one of the biggest signings in the club’s recent history.

Premier League clubs monitoring situation

Despite Galatasaray’s aggressive opening move, the battle for Leao is far from settled. Several leading European sides and Premier League clubs are believed to be monitoring developments closely, with Milan expected to face increasing enquiries as the transfer window progresses.

For Galatasaray, however, the move signals clear ambition. After strengthening their squad with high-profile additions in recent seasons, the Istanbul-based club now appear ready to test their financial power again in pursuit of one of Europe’s most recognisable attacking talents.
