Wilfried Singo to resume training

Galatasaray have been handed a major fitness boost after Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo was declared fit to resume full training ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 24-year-old sustained an injury while representing Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, raising concerns over his availability for the start of the new campaign. However, the latest medical assessments have confirmed that the defender has made a full recovery.

Singo had been following an individual rehabilitation programme since returning from international duty, working away from the main squad as he focused on regaining full fitness.

The encouraging update comes as Galatasaray begin their pre-season preparations in Austria, where the Turkish champions are laying the groundwork for another demanding domestic and European campaign.

After undergoing routine medical examinations alongside his teammates before the start of pre-season, Singo received the green light to rejoin the squad, providing a timely boost for the club’s coaching staff.

According to reports from Turkey, the Ivory Coast international has recovered well from the injury and is now ready to participate fully in training as Galatasaray intensify preparations for the upcoming season.

His return is expected to strengthen the Turkish giants’ defensive options, with Singo bringing versatility, athleticism and international experience to the backline.

The former Torino defender has established himself as one of Ivory Coast’s key players in recent years, and his recovery will be welcomed by both club and country after his World Cup campaign was cut short by injury.

With his fitness concerns now behind him, Singo will be aiming to hit top form during pre-season as Galatasaray prepare to defend their domestic crown and challenge strongly in European competition during the 2026/27 campaign.
