Galatasaray are pushing to sign Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini before the end of the January transfer window in Turkey.
With time running out, Galatasaray are said to have opened concrete discussions with Borussia Dortmund in a bid to prise away the experienced left-back.
The Turkish champions are keen to reinforce their defensive options and view Bensebaini as a player capable of making an immediate impact.
Transfer expert Nicolo Schira reports that the Algerian international sits high on Galatasaray’s shortlist. Bensebaini joined Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2023 and remains tied to the Bundesliga club until 2027.
Despite his long-term contract, the 29-year-old’s situation at Dortmund has become less straightforward in recent weeks.
Following his involvement with Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, Bensebaini has struggled for game time and has yet to feature in the Bundesliga since returning, a scenario that could encourage interest from abroad as the window closes.
