Galatasaray now leading race to sign German-Senegalese forward Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane

Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are now leading the race to secure the signing of German forward of Senegalese descent Leroy Sane.

The German international has been in talks with Bayern Munich for months, negotiating a contract extension deal.

In the past week, it has become clear that the two parties are unlikely to come to terms. As a result, Sane is now closer to leaving Bayern Munich than ever.

According to a German source, Galatasaray have taken the lead in the race to sign the former Manchester City star.

The Turkish Super Lig champions are reportedly in frequent and detailed contact with Sané’s representatives, with the player keen to resolve his future swiftly.

A potential move to Galatasaray would mark a major sporting and financial shift for both the player and the club.

While the Turkish side are currently in pole position, Premier League outfit Arsenal are still monitoring the situation, and a move to England remains a possibility.

The future of Sane will become clearer at the end of June when his contract with Bayern Munich expires.
