Galatasaray linked with Leipzig defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu

El Chadaille Bitshiabu, the France-DR Congo defender at Leipzig, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray of the Turkish Super Lig.

The 21-year-old centre-back is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2029, but his name has emerged in connection with a possible transfer to Turkey. The rumour remains unconfirmed and there is no indication that an agreement has been reached between the clubs or with the player.

Bitshiabu joined Leipzig from Paris St-Germain in July 2023 in a deal worth €15m. His current market value is listed at €18m, a figure that could provide an indication of Leipzig’s valuation should interest develop into formal negotiations.

The 1.96m defender has made 38 Bundesliga appearances during his career, playing 1,810 minutes, and has also featured in the Champions League and DFB-Pokal. He began his senior career at PSG after progressing through the French club’s youth system.

Bitshiabu won two French league titles with PSG in 2021-22 and 2022-23 before moving to Germany. He also helped France Under-17s win the European Under-17 Championship in 2022.

For now, Bitshiabu remains a Leipzig player, with his long-term contract leaving the Bundesliga side in a strong position should Galatasaray pursue the reported interest.
