Galatasaray lead race for Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr

Pape Matar Sarr has attracted interest from several clubs, but Galatasaray currently appear best placed to sign the Tottenham midfielder.

Galatasaray have reportedly moved ahead by reaching a verbal agreement with Sarr over personal terms. That progress gives the Turkish club an advantage, although negotiations with Tottenham remain unresolved and a transfer fee must still be settled.

Spurs have rejected two offers for the Senegal international, including a latest proposal worth approximately £17.1 million. The north London club are holding out for around £21.4 million, equivalent to €25 million, before allowing the 23-year-old to leave.

The difference between the two valuations has become the central issue in talks. Tottenham must decide whether to reduce their demands, while Galatasaray will consider improving their bid to prevent rival clubs from taking control of the negotiations.

Sarr’s future could therefore depend on who makes the next move. Galatasaray are eager to complete the deal after progressing on personal terms, but Tottenham’s firm stance continues to delay an agreement. With the transfer window approaching its conclusion, discussions are expected to continue as all interested parties assess their options.
