Galatasaray eye West Ham midfielder Soungoutou Magassa

French-Malian midfielder Soungoutou Magassa, who plays for West Ham, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder is reportedly being considered for a switch from the Championship to the Turkish Super Lig, although there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached.

Magassa has yet to appear for West Ham this season, with the club having played four Championship matches and two EFL Cup games. He joined the London club from Monaco on 29 August 2025 in a deal worth €17m.

The move ended Magassa’s time with Monaco, where he had progressed through the club’s academy system after joining from Paris 13 as a youth player. His current market value is listed at €17m.

Magassa’s contract with West Ham runs until 30 June 2031, meaning the club is under no immediate pressure to sell. Any potential move to Galatasaray would therefore involve a player who remains tied to West Ham for almost five more years.

The rumour comes early in the 2026-27 campaign, when Magassa has not been involved in West Ham’s competitive fixtures. He has been registered as a midfielder and wears the number 27 shirt for the club.

No transfer fee or probability has been established for a possible move, and Magassa remains a West Ham player under contract through June 2031.
