Arthur Atta linked with move to Galatasaray

Galatasaray have turned their attention to the transfer market just days after securing the league title, with the Turkish champions targeting Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta as part of their plans for a midfield rebuild.

Head coach Okan Buruk has prioritised strengthening his squad ahead of the new season, and the club has identified the 23-year-old French midfielder as a key target following his impressive performances in Serie A.

According to journalist Maurizio Russo, Galatasaray are preparing a proposal that would combine a cash payment with a player exchange deal, with defender Victor Nelsson included as part of the package offered to Udinese.

Atta’s rise in value over recent months has been notable, with his form in Italy drawing increasing attention from clubs across Europe.

His performances have positioned him as one of Udinese’s standout players, making him a central figure in the club’s long-term plans.

The challenge facing Galatasaray is expected to be significant. Udinese have already shown their reluctance to sell the midfielder, having rejected offers from Fulham in the region of €20m to €21m during the January transfer window.

However, the Italian club’s valuation has reportedly risen sharply since then. As of May 2026, Udinese are now said to be demanding around €40m for the player, reflecting both his development and growing importance within the squad.

Competition for Atta’s signature is also expected to be fierce. Several top European clubs are monitoring the situation closely, with Everton, Inter Milan and Napoli all reportedly interested in securing his services ahead of the new season.

Despite the increasing interest, Atta remains under contract at Udinese on a modest salary by top European standards, reportedly earning €280,000 annually.

Galatasaray’s interest underlines their ambition to strengthen significantly ahead of their next campaign, but any potential deal is likely to require complex negotiations given Udinese’s valuation and the level of competition from across Europe.
