Turkish club Galatasaray announced on Tuesday that Moroccan attacker, Hakim Ziyech has left the club.
“Thank you, Hakim Ziyech, for your efforts and contributions to Galatasaray! Wishing you success in your new journey!” the club said on their social media.
The former Ajax and Chelsea player was originally meant to stay on with the Turkish team until June 2025, but a series of unfortunate circumstances have led to his early departure.
Ziyech is expected to join Qatar-based club Al Duhail despite interest from European clubs.
Ziyech joined Galatasaray in August 2023 on loan from Chelsea before signing for the Turkish side on a permanent basis in June 2024.
However, the 31-year-old midfielder sustained many injuries this season on both his MCL and ACL, which kept him out of several matches.
As a result, he was not a key part of coach Okan Buruk’s plans, which made him extremely dissatisfied with his role in the team.
