Gabriel Jesus gives approval to possible Napoli move from Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus has agreed to the idea of leaving Arsenal for Serie A, with Napoli emerging as a potential destination for the Brazil forward this summer.

Football Italia, citing reports, says Jesus would be willing to join Napoli. The 28-year-old remains under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2027, but is reportedly enthusiastic about the prospect of moving to Italy.

Napoli have not yet made a formal offer for Jesus. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club wants to complete player sales before approaching Arsenal, with Romelu Lukaku and either Luca or Lang involved in those plans.

The proposed move for Jesus is closely linked to Lukaku’s future. The Belgium striker has reached an agreement with Fenerbahce, although a significant difference remains between the two clubs’ valuations of the player.

Napoli initially sought a fee of 12m euros for Lukaku. However, the club is reported to be ready to reduce that demand, provided Fenerbahce’s offer is worth between 7m and 8m euros, including bonuses.

A transfer to Fenerbahce would potentially benefit Napoli in two ways. The Turkish club is also reported to be among those interested in signing Jesus, meaning Lukaku’s departure could help Napoli both raise funds and advance their pursuit of the Arsenal forward.

Jesus is said to be particularly keen on the prospect of playing in Italy. Serie A has reportedly been placed at the top of his list of preferred destinations, strengthening the possibility of a move away from the Premier League club.

Initial contact between Napoli and the player dates back to early June. Those discussions were described as an initial enquiry and an indication to Jesus that Napoli would make him their primary target once the necessary sales had been completed.

For now, Napoli’s pursuit depends on the club’s ability to resolve the situations involving Lukaku and either Luca or Lang. Only after those deals are concluded is the club expected to consider submitting an official proposal to Arsenal for Jesus.

The forward’s Arsenal contract does not expire until 2027, meaning the Premier League club would be in a position to demand a transfer fee for his services. However, the reports indicate that Jesus is open to a change of league and has given his approval to the possibility of joining Napoli.

The outcome of Lukaku’s negotiations with Fenerbahce could therefore determine whether Napoli move forward with their interest in Jesus this summer.
