Gabon’s Mario Lemina returns to Galatasaray in €2.5m move from Wolves

Gabonese international Mario Lemina has officially rejoined Turkish giants Galatasaray, completing a move from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported fee of €2.5 million.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who previously played for Galatasaray during the 2019-2020 season, returns to Istanbul after a strong campaign in the Premier League.

Lemina made 17 appearances and scored one goal for Wolves but opted to reunite with the Turkish club, where he had left a positive impression.

Galatasaray Secure Experienced Midfielder

Galatasaray moved swiftly to reinforce their midfield, attracted by Lemina’s physical presence and experience.

The club’s management sees him as a valuable addition to strengthen their squad in the second half of the season.

Lemina, known for his ability to win back possession and dictate play, is expected to bring leadership and stability to Galatasaray’s midfield as they push for domestic and European success.

Contract Details

Lemina has signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with Galatasaray, with an option for an additional season.

Under the terms of the agreement, he will earn €1.25 million for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season and €2.5 million for the following campaign.

The Gabonese midfielder is expected to play a key role in the club’s ambitions for the rest of the season.
