Al-Shabab FC are closing in on the signing of 31-year-old midfielder Mario Lemina from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with a transfer fee rumored to be around €4 million, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.
Lemina has been a steady presence in Wolves’ midfield, though the club has struggled in the Premier League, remaining near the bottom of the table. The former Olympique de Marseille player has appeared in 18 matches across all competitions for Wolves, contributing one goal and three assists.
However, his tenure at Molineux has been marked by internal struggles. Despite being named club captain at the start of the season, Lemina was stripped of the role by head coach Gary O’Neil after an incident with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.
Wolves have since climbed out of the relegation zone but remain precariously close to danger, sitting just two points ahead of 18th-placed Ipswich Town. Lemina’s impending move to Al-Shabab signals a new chapter in his career.
