Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang terminates contract with Al Qadsiah ahead of potential Marseille switch
Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become a free agent following contract termination with Saudi Pro League outfit, Al Qadsiah.
Having parted ways with Al Qadsiah, Aubameyang is expected to make a return to Europe, with Marseille expressing keen interest in the attacker.
Despite an impressive goal record in the Gulf State, having scored 21 in 36 games, the former Barcelona and Chelsea star has severed ties with the Saudi outfit.
Aubameyang left Marseille last summer to join Al-Qadsiah following an impressive performance in France, where he scored 30 goals and registered 11 assists in 51 games across competitions.
The Gabon international is currently in talks with Olympique Marseille over a potential two-year deal at the Phocéen club.
Aubameyang is prioritising a move back to Marseille over other European clubs. The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker’s interest is reportedly mutual and could switch to the French outfit.
Despite considering offers from the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia (with Al-Ettifaq in the running), talks between Marseille has advance.
