Gabon Star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shares excitement after Marseille’s win over PSG

Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has shared his excitement after helping Olympique Marseille secure victory over Paris Saint Germain on Monday night.

The former Dortmund and Barcelona star was in action when Marseille cruised to a narrow victory over PSG in a high-stake clash, held at the Stade Vélodrome.

Morocco international Nayef Aguerd’s early strike was enough for the home team to snatch maximum points over their opponent.

The win marks Marseille’s first Clasico victory since February 2020, and a first Vélodrome win in Ligue 1 since 2011.

However, the Gabonese international has expressed his joy following his sides’ success in the match.

“I’m super happy, I think I’ve even become a Marseille supporter. I’m really happy, especially because of the manner. It was a big match tonight. I’m happy for the team and above all for the Marseille people – they deserved this. Honestly, nobody can rival the Vélodrome for atmosphere. I had doubts with Dortmund, but Marseille has definitely taken the upper hand. I came back to relive these moments.” He said.

The 31-year-old returned to Marseille during the summer transfer window and has since made four appearances in the Ligue 1, scoring two goals and assisting a goal in the process.
