Gabon midfielder Clench Loufilou swaps Iraq for Saudi Arabia in Al-Jandal move

Gabon midfielder Clench Loufilou has joined Saudi First Division League club Al-Jandal from Iraq’s Al-Mina’a SC on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder completed the move on 4 August 2026 after two years with Al-Mina’a, who compete in the Iraq Stars League. Loufilou’s arrival gives Al-Jandal a right-footed midfield option as they prepare for the new campaign.

Loufilou made 66 appearances in the Iraq Stars League during his career, providing one assist. He has also played in the Jindal League, the Iraq FA Cup, the CAF Confederation Cup, Ligue 2 and the Coupe de France.

Standing 1.83m tall, Loufilou began his senior club career with Gabonese side Mangasport. He later moved to France, joining AC Ajaccio on a free transfer in September 2019. After leaving the French club, he spent a period without a club before returning to Mangasport in July 2021.

The midfielder then moved to Oman, signing for Sur in September 2022. His next switch came in August 2024, when he joined Al-Mina’a SC, where he continued his career in Iraq’s top-flight competition.

Loufilou now moves to Al-Jandal, whose league is the Saudi First Division League. The transfer marks a change of country and competition for the Gabon international, with the player leaving Iraq after two seasons at Al-Mina’a.

His career has included football in Gabon, France, Oman and Iraq, while his role has remained primarily in defensive midfield. Loufilou’s record also includes one goal in 16 Jindal League appearances, alongside his extensive experience in the Iraq Stars League.

The move was completed without a transfer fee, and Loufilou is now an Al-Jandal player.
