Gabon has appointed Claude-Albert Mbourounot as the interim coach for their upcoming official match against Morocco on March 5. This decision comes after the departure of Paulo Duarte, leaving the Panthers without a permanent coach. The announcement was made by the standardization committee of the Gabonese Federation.
Mbourounot is a familiar face in Gabonese football, having previously served as an assistant to Paulo Duarte and as the former coach of the U23 national team. He notably led Gabon to victory as pre-Olympic champions in December 2011 in Morocco.
With Mbourounot at the helm, Gabon will look to maintain stability and continue their preparations for upcoming matches despite the absence of a permanent head coach.
