Morocco swept aside Egypt 6-0 to reach the final of the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, extending their dominant run as they close in on a fourth consecutive continental title.

The Atlas Lions delivered an emphatic performance at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall in Rabat on Monday to maintain their unbeaten record and book a final showdown with Angola on Wednesday.

Under head coach Hicham Dguig, Morocco have scored 23 goals without conceding in their four matches at the tournament, underlining their strength at both ends of the court.

Morocco maintain defensive dominance

The hosts entered the semi-final after finishing top of Group A with a perfect nine points from three matches.

Morocco began their campaign with a 4-0 victory over Algeria before recording a commanding 7-0 win against Zambia.

They completed the group stage with another convincing performance, defeating Libya 6-0 to secure their place in the last four.

Their emphatic victory over Egypt extended that impressive run, with the North African side once again unable to breach Morocco’s defence.

Egypt had reached the semi-finals after finishing second in Group B with six points, but they were unable to match the hosts’ intensity in Rabat.

Egypt’s title hopes ended by Atlas Lions

The Pharaohs started the competition strongly, beating Tanzania 8-0 and Mozambique 4-0 before suffering a 4-2 defeat against Angola in their final group-stage fixture.

However, their campaign ended in disappointment against a Moroccan side determined to defend its continental crown.

The 6-0 result also continued Morocco’s perfect defensive record, with Dguig’s team combining attacking quality with defensive discipline throughout the competition.

Angola stand between Morocco and another title

Morocco will face Angola in Wednesday’s final, scheduled for 20:00 local time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall in Rabat.

Angola booked their place in the decider after producing a dramatic comeback to defeat Algeria 3-2 in the other semi-final.

The Angolans trailed 2-0 at half-time before scoring three unanswered goals after the break to eliminate the tournament debutants.

Morocco will now aim to secure their fourth consecutive Futsal AFCON title, having won the competition in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

Victory on Wednesday would extend the Atlas Lions’ remarkable run in African futsal and further strengthen their position among the continent’s leading teams.
