FUS Rabat dismissal rumours quashed as club backs head coach Said Chiba
Moroccan club FUS Rabat has dismissed reports suggesting that head coach Said Chiba is facing the sack after a slow start to the new league season.
The Rabat-based side opened their campaign with back-to-back defeats against Raja Casablanca and MC Meknes before settling for a 1-1 draw against Ittihad Touarga in their third outing.
Club sources, however, insist Chiba retains the board’s full confidence.
“Fath Union Sport has always believed in technical stability and has never rushed into replacing coaches,” a source told local media. “Said Chiba is part of the club’s history as a former player and guided the team to a strong finish last season. He knows he has our backing.”
Officials believe a first victory could spark a turnaround in fortunes.
“Once that comes, the team will truly take off,” the source added.
FUS Rabat will look to secure their maiden win of the season when they visit IR Tanger on Saturday, October 4, at the Stade du Village Sportif de Tanger.
