Frosinone set €20m price for Algeria winger Fares Ghedjemis amid transfer interest

Frosinone have set an asking price of €20m for Algeria international Fares Ghedjemis as interest in the winger continues to grow, although his representative says no formal offers have yet been made by the clubs linked with a move.

Ghedjemis has been the subject of transfer speculation involving Monaco, Celtic and Rangers, while Frosinone are hoping to keep the player. Besiktas had also been mentioned as a possible destination, but that option has now closed for administrative reasons.

The Turkish club has already reached its quota for non-community players. Ghedjemis, who will soon turn 24, cannot be registered in the category reserved for younger foreign players, meaning Besiktas are unable to proceed with the move under the current circumstances.

Interest in Ghedjemis extends beyond the clubs currently associated with a direct move. Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are also monitoring the Algeria international, although any attempt to sign him would have to meet Frosinone’s financial requirements.

Frosinone’s stance gives the club a strong negotiating position because of the length of Ghedjemis’ contract. Unless an interested club is prepared to pay close to the €20m figure, the Italian side may be able to retain the player despite the growing speculation.
