Nabil Maâloul, the coach of Tunisia’s national football team, responded to Esperance of Tunis, which had expressed dissatisfaction with the call-up of nine of their players for the friendly match between Tunisia and Congo. Maâloul stated that he does not want any controversy and assured that he cannot harm Esperance. He mentioned “two dirty people” behind the story but expressed his intention to address the matter one day. Maâloul emphasized that he summoned the players to prepare for the Cape Verde match in the World Cup qualifiers. Esperance had complained about the players being available only three days before a CAF Champions League match. The closed session for the friendly match has been lifted.
