Sabri Lamouchi, the Franco-Tunisian coach of the Ivory Coast national football team, discussed the return of Didier Drogba to the squad ahead of their friendly match against Mexico. Lamouchi acknowledged that Drogba was not in top form during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) due to his transfer to China. However, with Drogba back in good shape, Lamouchi expressed confidence in the captain’s motivation and determination to perform well for the national team. Drogba had been absent from the squad since the quarter-final match against Nigeria in the previous CAN and missed the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June.
