A friendly match is scheduled to take place on June 1 in Nairobi between the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the Black Stars of Ghana. This confirmation comes from Sam Nyamweya, the president of the Kenyan federation, who mentioned that the team’s commendable performance against Nigeria last month led to this request. The match will also serve as preparation for Kenya’s return leg in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria. Ghana, requesting the match from Kenya, intends to use it as part of their preparations for the World Cup qualifier against Sudan. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has turned down friendly match offers from Mexico and Japan. The Black Stars previously defeated Sudan 4-0 in Kumasi on March 24.
