Fridom Tekia returns to Schaffhausen II after brief Hongg II spell
Eritrean midfielder Fridom Tekia has rejoined Schaffhausen II from SV Hongg II on a free transfer, completing the move on 25 August 2026.
Tekia, an 18-year-old central midfielder, returns to Schaffhausen II only 13 days after leaving the club for Hongg II. He joined Hongg II on 12 August, also on a free transfer, having previously been part of Schaffhausen II’s set-up during the 2025-26 season.
The latest move brings the Eritrean player back to a club where he featured in the U17 Elite League last season. Tekia made 14 appearances in the competition and scored twice, while also playing in the U17 Elite Playouts and the Schweizer Cup U17.
He played one match in each of those additional competitions. His U17 Elite League goals came across 825 minutes of action, with his appearances including a spell in which he averaged one goal every 413 minutes.
Tekia’s return follows a series of moves within Swiss football. He joined Schaffhausen II from Schaffhausen Under-18s on 1 January 2026, after arriving at the Under-18 side from Winterthur Under-17s in July 2025.
Born on 23 May 2008, Tekia represents Eritrea and operates primarily in central midfield. His return to Schaffhausen II adds another chapter to a rapid sequence of club changes at the beginning of the 2026-27 season.
The transfer was completed without a fee, and no contract expiry date has been announced. Tekia is now registered with Schaffhausen II following his free transfer from SV Hongg II.
