Fresh FIFA transfer ban deepens Zamalek crisis
Zamalek has been hit with a new blow after FIFA imposed a fresh transfer ban on the club for the next registration window, adding to an already heavy pile of legal and financial troubles.
This latest sanction raises the number of active cases against the Cairo giants at FIFA to six, underlining the scale of the crisis facing the White Castle.
A source told Kooora that the new punishment is linked to unpaid dues owed to former Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi.
The club has been ordered to pay 480,000 dollars, in addition to 5% interest for each year of delay, taking the total amount to roughly 505,000 dollars.
The situation is further complicated by several other open cases involving members of the former coaching staff under Jose Gomes, including assistant coach Andre Bikey, goalkeeping coach Luis Vicente and fitness coach Joao Miguel, along with separate claims from Gomes himself and former Swiss boss Christian Gross.
These accumulated disputes leave Zamalek facing mounting pressure to find financial solutions quickly.
