French outfit Toulouse have completed the acquisition of Ghana international Francis Abu in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Black Stars midfielder joins Toulouse on a permanent deal from Belgium outfit Cercle Brugge, becoming the third signing of the club.
Known as versatile central midfielder with a box-to-box profile, the Ghanaian international is expected to play a huge role for the club in the upcoming football campaign.
Trained at the highly regarded Right to Dream Academy, the midfielder joined FC Nordsjaelland, in the Danish first division, where he demonstrated at the highest level.
In 2022, he signed with Cercle Bruges in Belgium. The previous club of a certain Yann Gboho, whom he would later reunite with in purple.
In his first season, he played 33 matches, scoring two goals and providing three assists. Convinced by his performances, the club extended his contract until the end of the 2024 season, and the Ghanaian international added 49 more appearances to his tally, scoring one goal and four assists.
The Ghana international begin a new journey, joining Toulouse. Despite despite interest from several European clubs, Francis Abu opted to join the French outfit with the ambition of continuing to progress and thrilling the TéFéCé fans.
The number 17 becomes the first Ghanaian player in the club’s history, having earned five caps for the Black Stars.
