French outfit Strasbourg have reached an agreement to sign Senegalese youngster Pape Demba Diop in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old midfielder enjoyed an amazing season in Belgium with Zulte Waregem, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 31 appearances across competitions.
Diop outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, attracting interest from several clubs in Europe including Strasbougr, who are keen to bolster their squad for the upcoming football campaign.
His performance in the just ended campaign marks a significant improvement from the previous season (his first in Europe after arriving in 2022 from Senegalese side Diambars FC), where he only played 12 times and scored once and assisted once.
Strasbourg have been committed under the BlueCo ownership to locating and securing young talent with high ceilings for growth, and it appears that Diop could be the next in line for the team as they look to strengthen their options in midfield.
The Ligue 1 side have a busy summer ahead of them as they try to strengthen their midfield, particularly with Andrey Santos returning to his parent club Chelsea FC, and Habib Diarra linked with a move away.
