French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice is on the verge of securing the signing of Ghana international Salis Abdul Samed in the current summer transfer window.
Nice, who struggled in the Champions League qualifier against Benfica are executing an aggressive effort to bolster their midfield before the commencement of the 2025/26 French Ligue 1 campaign, with the 25-year-old emerging as a priority target.
Samed, who is in the books of fellow French outfit RC Lens spent last season on loan at Sunderland after he was relegated from the first team.
Despite enduring a torrid spell in English Championship with Sunderland, the Ghanaian midfielder finished the 2024/25 campaign on a high as Sunderland secured promotion to the Premier League.
The former Clermont Foot midfielder was limited to only eleven appearances for the Black Cats, due to persistent injuries. Despite promotion to the Premier League, the midfielder was not retained as he made a return to parent club at the end of the season.
Samed, who has no future with RC Lens is set to join Nice. The enterprising midfielder is expected to sign a three-year deal worth €2.5m.
Meanwhile, RC Lens will earn a percentage from any future sale of the Ghana international midfielder.
