French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice has firmly reiterated their desire to retain Algeria international Hicham Boudaoui despite interest in the current window.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Nice after attracting significant interest following his outstanding performance last term.
Earlier reports claimed Nice would be open to selling the Algerian midfielder during the current window. However, that came prior to the sale of Evann Guessand, who has since joined Aston Villa in a €30m deal.
Now, the French Ligue 1 outfit is desperate not to lose another key player as they seeks to make a meaningful impact in the 2025/26 season.
“He won’t leave. It is the club that decides who stays and goes,” said Nice manager Franck Haise.
He continued, “He, like others, may have slight hopes, but we have the hope to keep a team on track, to strengthen it, and to get our injured players back, so we can have a team to target the top seven. It isn’t by losing Hicham, or others, that we will get there.”
The midfielder missed his outfit game against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League playoff due to fitness issues.
Meanwhile, he is expected to return to the team ahead of their French Ligue 1 opener against Toulouse on Saturday.
